Marina Tiwol graduated from Universiti Tekn ologi Mara (UiTM) with a Second Class (Upper Division) LL.B (Hons) in 2021.

She was attached to Mahkamah Tinggi Shah Alam in January 2020 as a legal intern, in which she was exposed to managing the relevant cause papers and documents filed by litigants as well as having the opportunities in closely observing civil and criminal hearings and trials conducted by the Registrars and Judges. During her final year, she completed the 10 sessions of “Anatomy of Advanced Civil Practice Protocol & Advocacy”, a special 30 hours course conducted by YM Dato’ Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah. This course had developed her interest in civil litigation.

Aside from academic activities, she was actively involved with the International Law Club in UiTM, being the secretary and was also given the opportunity to organise several events that trained her to work with people from different backgrounds and industries. She had also represented her Faculty in several mooting competitions such as LawAsia International Mooting Competition (2020) and Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition (2018).

She is currently part of our Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group 6 under the supervision of our Partner, Mohd Wafiy Azman.

Hazwani Kamaluddin

Hazwani Kamaluddin graduated from University of Malaya with a LL.B (Hons) in 2021.

During her undergraduate years, she spent three months as a legal intern at Messr. Zainy & Partners (Jerantut Branch) in July 2020. During her legal attachment, she has explored mainly in conveyancing and banking litigation. She found her work, from preparing the sale and purchase agreement to documenting the discharge of charge. She was trained to draft letters and cause papers throughout the attachment. She was also attached at the Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters for two weeks in January 2020. She was exposed to the criminal procedures applied within the police organization.

She was an active student participating in events organized by UM as well as others, such as being a delegate in E-Student Exchange Programme (2020) and a sponsorship committee in LexGala Faculty of Law (2018). Furthermore, she loves participating for voluntary work and she was a tutor at the Pusat Tuisyen Pintar Ilmu (2019). She was also a sport volunteer for 29th SEA Games (Kuala Lumpur 2017).

She was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors on 3 February 2023. She is currently part of the Projects Practice Group.

Alfred Tan Hsiong Vei graduated from University of Leeds with a LL.B (Hons) and was accredited with his Certificate in Legal Practice in 2021.

He was attached to the real estate department of Adnan Sundra & Low as an attachment student during his university days. During his tenure as an attachment student there, he has explored mainly on conveyancing, data entry and research work. Furthermore, in 2021, he also completed an internship with Quality Oracle Sdn Bhd, a firm that specializes in Intellectual Property matters. Throughout his internship with the firm, he was given the opportunity to gain a holistic understanding regarding the various types of Intellectual Property matters.

He was active student participating in various events organized by the law faculty during his university days. He is an active pro bono volunteer and was involved with several pro bono events in university. An example of his pro bono participations is Streetlaw Homeless at Groundswell Homeless Center in London in which he was responsible for giving a speech (under the supervision of a legal practitioner) and advice homeless people on their rights as a homeless person in the UK. Besides that, he also has a passion in writing and used to be secretary for ALSA HELP University.

He is very passionate about Corporate and Commercial matters and is always looking forward to gaining more knowledge about the sector.

Fatin Hazwani Mohd Hakimi graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) with a First Class LL.B (Hons) in 2021.

She was attached to Mahkamah Sepang in January 2020, in which she was exposed to the filling process and procedures of criminal and civil trial in court. She was mainly tasked to assist the interpreter in court. The attachment had developed her interest in litigation.

Aside from academic activities, she had also been involved with the Law Entrepreneurialship Club (LEC) in UITM, where she was given the opportunity to organise several events that trained her to work with people from different backgrounds and industries. Some of the events she had jointly organised are “Hungry as Truck 3.0”, “Program Keusahawanan Siswa Food Cabinet” and “Bengkel Keusahawanan Mahasiswa Fakulti Undang-Undang”. She had also represented her faculty in several sports events such as volleyball and marathon. Besides that, she had also been actively involved with Gamejaya, a club for traditional Malay music instruments in which she trained school students to play Gamelan.

Fatin Syaheera Mohd Zuki

Fatin Syaheera Mohd Zuki graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with LLB (Hons) Upper Second Class in 2020.

Previously, she was a Judicial Clerk in the Research Unit, Chief Registrar’s Office Federal Court Malaysia from October 2020 until May 2021. During her service as a Judicial Clerk, she assisted the apex court judges in legal research and drafting preliminary opinion for public interest cases. She also worked together with the Research Unit in legal research and opinion drafting as well as other administrative works.

She was an active student participating in various events organized by UiTM and others such as being the committee member in the Conveyancing for Dummies Seminar in 2018, Novice Arbitration Mooting Competition (NAMCO) in 2017, and the UiTM Mock Trial: Genesis in 2016.

Wan Nornajihin Kassim graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a LL.B (Hons) Upper Second Class in 2020.

She was appointed as a Judicial Clerk who was recognised for admission by the current Chief Judge of Malaya, The Right Honourable Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azahar bin Mohamed. She had served for more than six (6) months in the Research Division, Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court of Malaysia and had conducted legal researches over wide issues of law including public interest issues.

She had undergone her Law Attachment Programme with Messrs. Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak which had her stationed in litigation, conveyancing and Syariah departments. During the attachment period, she was exposed to drafting cause papers, letters and documents which had equipped her with substantial knowledge in the industry before she graduated.

She was a Secretary General I of the Law Students’ Society of IIUM and also an Executive Member of a volunteering club. She was an active volunteer and had engaged in numerous national collaborations to provide aid and assistance to the aboriginal people. She was also actively involved as working committee in university-level events and national to international level competitions such as Jessup Competition (Malaysian Round) 2020, Pertandingan Penghujahan Mahkamah 2019 and Novice International Arbitration Moot Competition (NAMCO) 2019.

Tengku Nazmi Tengku Anuar graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a LL.B (Hons) in 2020 with an LLB Hons degree Class 2 (Upper).

He has previously worked as a Part-Time Research Assistant for Professor Ida Madieha Bt. Abdul Ghani Azmi from 2019 to 2020 where he assisted in research primarily on intellectual property and international trade. Furthermore, he also assisted in the preparation of research proposals and conference presentations on topics related to trademark and patent issues. Beyond that, he also undertook an internship with RamRais & Partners (now known as Ram Caroline Sha & Syah) in 2019 where he was exposed to litigation and conveyancing work and assisted in the drafting and preparation of court documents.

In his university days, he was primarily active in the IIUM student-run law journal, Law Majalla, in which he was part of the revival committee in 2018 and subsequently served as its Editor-in-Chief in 2019. During this time, he assisted students in editing their journal submissions and subsequently ensuring that they were up to the high standards of an academic journal while also helping to organize the running of the journal.

Tengku Nazmi has a passion for Intellectual Property and Civil Litigation. His master is our Senior Consultant, Tuan Haji Rasheed.

Fatin Razanah Rezduan

Fatin Razanah Rezduan graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia with a 1st class LL.B (Hons) in March 2021.

She had previously completed her Law Attachment Program (Internship) at Messrs Rashid Zulkifli for three months in which she had the opportunity to learn more on the law regarding corporate, contractual and employment matters – specifically with regards to breach of confidentiality and minority oppression. She has also experienced proper ways of conducting client consultation as her supervisor, En. Zulkifli, allowed her to attend meetings with clients in order to observe in detail on how to deal with various types of clients.

Furthermore, she was the first woman to have become the President of a Japanese martial arts club in her university called the IIUM Aikido Club for two years. Throughout her tenure, she handled various international programmes including an exchange training with Aikido practitioners from Singapore and Indonesia. She was also involved with student facilitator programs under the Student Facilitating Front Club as well as becoming the committee for 3 years in the International Debate Competition which was held by the university every year. Besides, she was also the Director for Mock Trial (GHAIB-2016) and (KESAL-2019).

She is now part of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Practice Group under the supervision of our Senior Associate, Mohammad Ashraf Mohamed Sopiee.

Chris Lim Chee Kiung

Chris Lim Chee Kiung graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) with a LL.B (Hons) 1st Class in 2020.

Prior to this, he was an intern in the Chambers of Queenie Hoh Li Chian, where the firm mainly focused on civil litigation. He was given the opportunity to assist with the drafting of cause papers and also being tasked with extensive research.

During his study he received a number of awards such as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) Award at the 33rd UUM Convocation. He is also a receiver for the UUM Dean’s List Awards since his 2nd semester until the end of his LL.B. He is also one of the scholars for the Biasiswa Kerajaan Negeri Sabah, 2016-2020. He is also the recipient of Pelajar Cemerlang STPM – Majlis Anugerah Pelajar Cemerlang Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan 2016.

On the co-curricular side, he is also an active student participating in events organized by UUM Law School as well as others, such as being the Assistant Director of Legal for Model United Nations (Chapter UUM) and also a remarkable Master of Ceremonies for the university. He was also an active volunteer for events in as well as outside UUM, such as participating for voluntary work through Mobile Court Sabah as well as being the participant for Kunjungi Rumah Seri Kenangan Kangar.
