Sharmaine Yap graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a LL.B (Hons) in 2022 and earned her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2024.

Prior to her pupillage, she worked as a Corporate and Tax Paralegal for 14 months in RDS Partnership where she got to assist in various tasks and assignments, including assisting in due diligence exercises for M&A matters and preparation of bundles for tax litigation matters.

During her university days, she had also undergone internships in Shin Associates and Messrs Prem & Associates where she was exposed to multiple practice areas such as corporate, intellectual property, and general litigation.

She was called to was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya in January 2026.

She is currently part of our Senior Partner’s Office under the supervision of our Senior Partner, Dato’ Azmi Mohd Ali.

Nur Eezah graduated with a Second – Class Honours, First Division in LLB Law from the University of Reading, United Kingdom. She earned her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2024 from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia.

Prior to joining Azmi & Associates, she worked in the Legal Department of PNB Commercial Sdn. Berhad. In 2022, she won an award from the Garden Court Chambers (GCC), London as a recognition for her academic performance at university. Subsequently, she shadowed barristers at GCC, among others, on appealing against the Home Office’s decision to deport asylum seekers in the UK. Nur Eezah also interned at Azmi & Associates in 2023 where she was exposed to corporate law and developed further interests in litigation.

During her university years, she was active in mooting hosted by the law society & intensive mediation trainings with BDB Pitmans LLP, Reading. She was involved in Malaysian – based student societies and particularly in field hockey under the British Universities and Colleges Sport Tournament. In her free time, she reads and plays field hockey.

She was called to was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya in February 2026.

She is now part of Mergers & Acquisitions/Corporate Practice Group under the supervision of our Partner, Norhisham Abd Bahrin.

Danial Azli graduated from the Bar Training Course at BPP University and was called to the Bar of England and Wales on the 28 November 2024 by the Honourable Society of the Lincoln’s Inn. He previously earned his LL.B (Hons) from Cardiff University in 2022 with a Second-Class Honours Division One.

He gained valuable experience as a Legal Intern at Azmi & Associates, where he conducted extensive legal research and supported various civil and commercial law matters. In Intellectual Property Law area, he conducted trademark searches and analyse search results to identify potential conflicts with existing trademarks.

During his academic journey, Danial was an active and committed student, serving as a Student Representative for Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics and participating in sports prestigious events such as the British Universities & College Sports in Futsal where they became Runner-Up during that year. His extracurricular involvement also extended to organizing student activities, such as the BAC Games, and being a main cast member in the Festival of Diversity at Cardiff University.

He is currently part of the Senior Partner’s Office under the supervision of our Senior Partner, Dato’ Azmi Mohd Ali.
