Tan Boon Ting graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). During his convocation, he was honored with the prestigious Tun Abdul Hamid Foundation Gold Medal Award 2024. Tan Boon Ting has gained extensive legal experience through various internships and practicums. He interned at Veon Szu & Kok Thye, focusing on trademark and copyright registration, where he honed his legal research skills. At the High Court of Kuala Lumpur, he was exposed to diverse departments and observed high-profile cases, including the 1MDB proceedings involving former Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Razak.

During his practicum at the Penang State Legal Advisor’s Office, he rotated through multiple departments, handling prosecution cases, civil matters, and advisory tasks. He contributed to drafting defense statements, legal opinions, and reviewing legislative documents. In August 2024, during his practicum at Azmi & Associates (Penang Branch), he engaged in client meetings, conducted research on land-related matters, and authored articles on trust law.

Most recently, during his legal internship with Lim Sen Teng & Partners, Mr. Tan Boon Ting has gained practical experience in both litigation and corporate work. He has assisted with small claims cases, conducted regulatory searches, and drafted key legal documents, including originating summonses and affidavits.

His leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA UUM) and organizing major legal forums. Additionally, he participated in the Novice Arbitration Mooting Competition (NAMCO), further developing his advocacy and analytical skills. These roles have equipped him with strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
