Eliza Maryam Ho graduated from Cardiff University with an LLB (Hons) (2:1) in 2023, and completed her Bar Vocational Studies in City University of London in 2025.

She is also a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, where she was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2025.

During her studies, she gained practical exposure through internships at Shearn Delamore and Azmi & Associates as well, where she was exposed to a broad range of practice areas such as banking and finance, corporate matters, and litigation. Her work involved legal research, drafting, observing court proceedings, and assisting in both contentious and non-contentious matters, allowing her to develop strong analytical and written communication skills.

Whilst studying for the Bar Vocational Course at City University of London, she also undertook the Clinical Legal Education Project, where she volunteered with Citizens Advice. She acted as a trainee adviser assisting members of the public on a range of legal and non-legal issues. This role required her to advise clients over the phone and in person, and maintain confidentiality. She completed a reflective portfolio documenting her experience as an adviser, demonstrating her ability to critically assess her work, apply legal principles in real-world contexts, and communicate advice in an empathetic manner.

Her areas of interest include corporate law and banking and finance. Her Master is our Partner, Mohd Sallahudin Abdullah.

Airene Ho graduated from the University of East London with an LL.B (Hons) in 1995 and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1997. She practiced as an Advocate & Solicitor for 7 years before transitioning into the corporate sector, where she spent for 2 decades serving as a General Counsel / Head of Legal. She has since returned to legal practice. In addition to her legal qualification, Airene holds an MBA, has passed the Patent Agent examination, and is a MIM Certified Professional in Intellectual Property Management (MIM-CPIPM).

During her 7 years in legal practice, Airene represented a diverse clientele in complex legal matters, including corporate and commercial transactions, intellectual property, and litigation. Notably, she represented a well-known U.S. software company and successfully secured a landmark software piracy decision against copyright infringers, which received media coverage in Malaysian newspapers. One of Airene’s matters, in which she successfully defended an appeal involving the assignment of debt, was reported: Arab-Malaysian Bank Bhd v Teamsystems Interior Sdn Bhd [2004] 6 CLJ (Supp) 232. She also served as the team lead advising Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, a public company established by the Government of Malaysia as the national asset management company to revitalise the Malaysian financial sector by buying non-performing loans (NPLs) from financial institutions and maximize their recovery value during the 1997 – 2000 economic crisis.

Over the course of her 2 decades as an in-house counsel, Airene provided global legal leadership across the real estate and life sciences / biotechnology (encompassing human health, animal health and sustainable agriculture) sectors. She has acted as a strategic business partner to Boards and Founders and was part of the Senior Leadership Team, delivering commercially aligned solutions to support organisational growth and resilience. Her experience includes leading high-impact, cross-border transactions in multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments, including acquisitions, investments and divestments, joint ventures, strategic collaborations and the spin-out of start-up companies. She has also managed interdependent complex cross-border litigation and built legal teams from the ground up, establishing robust legal architecture for the organisations. In addition, Airene was part of a cross-functional team that successfully registered a project under VERRA, gaining hands-on experience in voluntary carbon market mechanics, validation frameworks and credit issuance pathways.

Drawing on her complementary experience as both an Advocate & Solicitor and an in-house counsel, Airene is particularly passionate about transactions at the intersection of corporate, commercial and intellectual property law, where business objectives are closely aligned with environmental and sustainability priorities.

Fatin Nurhannani Zaharudin

Fatin Nurhannani is a legal professional with experience in the oil and gas sector. She is known for delivering practical legal solutions and providing strong support for key projects.

Fatin worked as a Senior Legal Associate at PETRONAS Legal Gas and Power from January 2022 to August 2024, focusing on drafting and structuring complex contracts for regasification terminal expansion project, biomethane integration, telecom initiatives and gas sales agreements. She also handled arbitration administration, due diligence, and legal governance. During her short tenure in PETRONAS Legal Carbon Management Division, Fatin reviewed key terms for carbon storage joint venture agreement and collaboration agreement, negotiated with investors, and developed strategies to manage partner relationships for the company.

Academically, Fatin holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Cardiff University (2018–2021). Fatin held several leadership and volunteer roles during her time in the UK. She served as Vice President of PETRONAS Club UK and Ireland and President of the UNICEF Society at Cardiff University, leading community and charity initiatives. She was also Secretary of the Photography Society and volunteered as a Student Advisor at Riverside Advice, providing guidance and support to individuals.

Nur Alya graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2025.

During her undergraduate studies, Alya participated in mooting and legal writing competition. Through these activities, she developed skills in legal research, written submissions, and oral advocacy. She also underwent a legal internship with Messrs. Nik Safia & Co, where she was attached to the Conveyancing Department. Throughout her internship, she assisted in property-related matters, including the preparation of sale and purchase agreements, loan documentation, and other conveyancing instruments. Nik Afifah graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam with a LL.B (Hons) in 2025.

She was attached to Sepang Sessions & Magistrate Court as an intern during her university days. During the tenure of the internship, she was exposed to both criminal and civil litigation proceedings and also Court’s procedure and etiquette which inspired her to purse a career as a litigator.

Farah Insyirah graduated from the University of Sultan Zainal Abidin with a LL.B (Hons) in 2022.

She has a prior qualification of Diploma in Law from the same university. During her university years, she was actively involved in extracurricular activities, including serving as a committee member of the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA). Through her involvement, she assisted in organising academic talks in collaboration with other ALSA local chapters and participated in the management of a national-level mediation competition. She was also active in mooting, which provided her with early exposure to arbitration and litigation.

Iman Danial graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with a double degree, namely the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Honours) and the Bachelor of Laws (Shari’ah) (Honours), and was called to the Bar in March 2023.

He is deeply passionate about Intellectual Property, and is particularly driven by the idea of protecting and defending creative ideas and innovations. As of April 2023, he leads the Intellectual Property Department of Hafiz Zubir & Co., where he oversees a broad range of IP matters including IP litigation, IP registration, IP commercialisation, anti-counterfeiting actions, and training on Intellectual Property.

Ahmad Hafiz Zubir

Hafiz is the founding and principal partner of HZC since 2018, where he has established a respected specialist practice in intellectual property (IP), litigation, and dispute resolution. Hafiz has authored and contributed to several practitioner-focused publications, reinforcing his standing in the IP legal community. He is the author of “A Practical Guide on Trademark Registration in Malaysia”book, which was published in November 2025 by Sweet & Maxwell (Thomson Reuters) Malaysia.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Master of Intellectual Property from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He is currently pursuing a PhD, reflecting his strong commitment to thought leadership and the advancement of IP jurisprudence.

His experience covers a broad range of IP disputes, including copyright infringement involving creative works and design concepts; trademark disputes relating to misrepresentation, passing off, and brand ownership; patent infringement involving the unauthorised making, use, or commercialisation of protected inventions; and industrial design infringement concerning the replication of registered designs. He also regularly advises on disputes between former business partners, particularly where intellectual property assets are central to the conflict.

Hafiz works closely with enforcement authorities on IP infringement matters, including assisting the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in raids and anti-counterfeiting enforcement. He has also handled numerous licensing, commercialisation, and royalty engagements with higher learning institutions and research bodies, including UKM, particularly in matters involving technology transfer and IP monetisation.

Beyond legal practice, Hafiz is actively involved in professional development and training. Jeremy Pang obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law (Honours) from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2022.

During his undergraduate studies, Jeremy was actively involved in numerous co-curricular activities. Amongst others, he served as a Student Advisor at the UM Legal Aid Clinic, a pro bono initiative offering legal advice to members of the public. In 2019, he had the distinct privilege of representing the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya in a student exchange programme at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in China. • Assisted with the advisory in relation to a selective capital reduction exercise via the court confirmation procedure pursuant to Section 116 of Companies Act 2016.
• Assisted with the advisory on the amendment of the deed for an unlisted real estate investment trust including drafting of the supplemental deed and lodgement of the relevant filings with the Securities Commission.

Mining & Natural Resources
• Conducted legal due diligence and provided advisory to a mining company in respect of the rare earth elements exploration in the state of Kedah.
• Assisted with the advisory on the gas purchase and transportation supply chain in Malaysia for a biomass company owned by Towngas, one of the largest energy suppliers in Hong Kong.
