It was still early in 2026. Just 10 days into the year, and yet Azmi & Associates did not waste any time to start organising its first Internal Litigation Summit, held on 10 January 2026 at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The Summit was led by the Senior Partner, with the Managing Partner and members of the Governance Committee in attendance, emphasising leadership’s commitment to shaping the next phase of the Firm’s litigation practice. Attendance reached full capacity, with demand exceeding the allocated seats; an early signal of the importance placed on this initiative across the Firm.

The Summit also marked a defining moment in the evolution of the Firm’s litigation platform. With the addition of two new Litigation Partners who joined the Firm on 1 January 2026, our Litigation Partnership has grown to 12 partners, supported by a total of 22 litigation lawyers. This expansion displays the Firm’s continued investment in depth, capability, and leadership within its disputes practice.
Over the course of a full day, litigation partners and lawyers engaged in structured, candid discussions on practice group specialisation, major matters concluded, and the realities; both strengths and constraints; of the Firm’s litigation platform.

Beyond performance review, the focus was firmly forward-looking: how to position the Firm for high-value, complex disputes, how to win them, how to manage risk with greater discipline, and how to better leverage talent and collaboration across practice groups.
The Summit represents a deliberate step in the Firm’s evolution. It reflects a shared belief that sustained excellence in litigation requires more than individual brilliance; it demands alignment, systems, leadership clarity, and an honest assessment of where growth must be earned.
As the Firm moves forward, the insights and momentum generated at the Summit will inform execution in the months ahead. The objective is clear: to continue building a litigation practice that commands confidence in the market and delivers consistently at the highest level.
Our thanks to all partners, presenters, organisers, and participants for their engagement and contributions. The discussions may have concluded, but the work; and the opportunity; has only just begun.
