Azmi & Associates has now expanded its operations in Johor Bahru. This strategic expansion stems from the Firm’s intention to better service its local clients and fraternity.

The JB office first opened its doors in 2003 with the humble office consisting of 2 lawyers. It then relocated in 2006 to Menara KOMTAR in the JB City Centre.

By 2015, the office consisted of 2 support staff and then Senior Associate, Syed Muhammad Ridza Syed Abdullah, who is in the process of being elevated to become Partner.

In July, the JB office moved into a bigger and better equipped office space, measuring more than 2000 square feet and made new additions to its team.

Mr Syed Ridza is now joined by lawyers, Nur Farhana Mohd Isa (LLB, UiTM) and Rowena Evangeline (LLB Leeds, Barrister-at-Law, Middle Temple) and a trainee lawyer, Nur Ilyana Syafira (LLB, UUM).

The team is supported by Nor Afizah Salleh in matters pertain-ing to conveyancing and com-mercial banking and Kamariah M. Yusof with corporate matters. Administrative and marketing matters of the office are overseen by Mohamad Jefri Mohamad Nasir (a BA Hons holder from UKM).

As of now, the main practice areas of the JB office are Corpo-rate, Conveyancing, Banki ng/Finance. Soon, the Firm hopes to widen the JB office’s practice areas to include Litigation/Dispute Resolution and Com-mercial matters.

In the true forward-looking spirit of Azmi & Associates, the JB office is looking to grow its team to 20 staff members and establish a strong presence in the legal scene in Johor Bahru.

With the presence of the JB office, the Firm hopes to collaborate with more channel partners in Singapore such as local & international law firms via the ASEAN+ Group Network, real estate market players and trade associations to facilitate investment into the Iskandar development region from and through Singapore.

Ultimately, the Firm aspires to channel the spirit and success of the KL office to its JB counterpart.
