Azmi & Associates is pleased to have advised Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (“Bank”) in connection with an Islamic multi-currency financing facility amounting to USD23.6 million and RM4.5 million, structured under the Shariah principle of Tawarruq and Kafalah, granted to an engineering and strategic asset development company.
This strategic financing will facilitate the acquisition and refurbishment of a vessel, which will be chartered to the PETRONAS Group, reinforcing critical support for Malaysia’s oil and gas infrastructure and energy ecosystem. Our scope of work includes the registration of ship mortgage with the Jabatan Laut Malaysia in favour of the Bank and, the drafting and negotiation of Letter of Quiet Enjoyment for the Bank with PETRONAS Group.
