Wardah Yumna Yunus graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with LL.B (Hons) in 2021.
In July 2019, she interned at the High Court of Malaya in Shah Alam, where she reviewed cases for the Insolvency Department and wrote summaries on criminal and civil trials. Apart from receiving the Dean’s List Award for three semesters, she had actively participated in various moot competitions. She won first runner-up in the Jessup Intercontinental Friendly Moot rounds on 8 March 2021, going against teams from Portugal, Latvia, France and other European countries. In August 2018, she was a quarterfinalist in the Asia Pacific Rounds of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Arbitration Moot held at Seoul National University. In November 2018, she mooted at University of Stockholm, Sweden for the global rounds of FDI Arbitration Moot.
At the national level, she won first runner-up in the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition 2019, and received the Best Oralist and “Promising Speaker” awards for the same tournament in 2019 and 2020. She also won first place in the Novice Arbitration Mooting Competition (NAMCO) 2018 held at Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC). In 2019, she was a semi-finalist and top 10 oralists for the LawAsia Moot Competition.
Besides that, she has a profound interest for researching and writing. She is also passionate about civil litigation and was a student of YM Raja Dato’ Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah Raja Mohzan under the special program called “Beyond the Classroom: Anatomy of Advanced Civil Practice Protocol & Advocacy” organized by UiTM. Her passion for advocacy also drives her interest to be involved in civil litigation.
She is currently part of our Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group 6 under the supervision of our Partner, Mohd Wafiy Azman.
