Sandra Lea graduated from University Malaya (UM) with a LL.B (Hons) in 2023.
Her legal journey commenced in her hometown Kota Kinabalu, where she embarked on her professional path as a legal intern at Chin Jingulam and Associates. Throughout her internship, she diligently supported the legal practitioners in their comprehensive preparation of criminal and civil litigation, with a specific focus on research, documentation, and drafting of cause-papers. Her commitment extended to regular attendance and active assistance during court hearings and trials held at the Kota Kinabalu Court Complex.
In university, she zealously pursued academic and extracurricular activities. She served as a Journal Editor for the University’s legal publication body, UM Law Review offering feedback and editing support to enhance legal arguments, language, and structure in the Annual Journal. Additionally, she was the Head of Media and Publicity for LexGala, an annual charity dinner event dedicated to fostering connections between law students, legal professionals, and the broader community, while also championing social causes. She was also involved in the Academics bureau of the Community Outreach Programme (COP), where she actively contributed to and participated in a Student Exchange Programme with Universitas Indonesia, promoting practical legal education for grassroots populations through interactive teaching methods known as “street law.”
She is currently part of our Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate practice group under the supervision of our Partner, Norhisham Abd Bahrin.
