Raja Azfar graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with LL.B (Hons) in 2024 and LL.B (Shariah) (Hons) in 2025. He was honoured as one of the Top 25 AIKOL Graduates of his cohort in recognition of his academic excellence.

He previously served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General’s Chambers and had conducted numerous criminal cases at the Klang Court. His prosecutorial work involved a wide range of criminal offences including offences under the Penal Code, Dangerous Drugs Act, Immigration Act and Road Transport Act.

In addition, he was also a paralegal at several law firms and had gained multiple experiences in banking, real estate and probate matters. His involvement includes advising individuals, corporations and financial institutions on banking facilities, cross-border financing, debt restructuring and a wide range of both conventional and islamic banking products. He also had handled multiple property transactions including transfers, perfections, discharges and tenancies for both residential and commercial properties. His experiences extend to will and probate matters, where he was involved in drafting cause papers, facilitating applications of letter of administration and managing asset distributions to the beneficiaries.  

During his studies, he actively participated in mooting competitions and was crowned as the Champion of Ahmad Ibrahim Advocacy Competition 2021 (Client Consultation Category), the Second Runner-Up of Novice Arbitration Mooting Competition 2023, and the Champion of KPUM Mentorship 2024 (Report Category). In addition, he served as the Vice President of IIUM Titian Wahyu Club and Ambassador for Institut Onn Ja’afar, and was awarded the Volunteerism Award for his dedication and contributions.

His notable experiences include:-

• Advising financial institutions on financing facilities amounting to RM40 million in relation to the acquisition of shop offices in Ulu Langat, Selangor.
• Attending in the preparation of sale and purchase agreement, as well as loan documentation in relation to the purchase of 30 units of residential houses, each valued at RM3 million.
• Advising a leading Malaysian financial institution on financing documentation in relation to financing facilities, by ensuring the compliance of the documentation with the regulatory framework and guidelines issued by Bank Negara Malaysia.
• Assisted in a complex probate matter involving 15 properties situated across multiple states in Malaysia, with a total estate value of RM20 million.
• Assisting in the purchase and acquisition of a commercial land located in Kuala Lumpur City Centre for a total purchase price of RM75 million.
