Ahmad Zafran graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), with Second Class (Upper Division) in 2025 and an LL.M from the University of Nottingham, where he specialized in technology and intellectual property laws.

His master’s dissertation, “Is AI a coherent legal object capable of regulation, or whether its conceptual instability undermine effective governance?“, explored the legal and regulatory challenges of artificial intelligence.

Before beginning his pupillage, Zafran completed several internships, including a 2024 attachment at Azmi & Associates focusing on corporate practice, private equity, and venture capital. During this time, he drafted and reviewed legal documentation—such as service agreements, share sale and purchase agreements, and legal opinions—gaining practical exposure to corporate and commercial transactions.

Zafran is currently doing his pupillage with the Firm, attached to the Private Equity & Venture Capital (PEVC) Practice Group with our Partner, Muhammad Inamul Hassan Shah Norman Dunsah as his Master.
