Azmi & Associates is pleased to share the news about 2 recently concluded transactions attended to the the Firm, which has were closed in the preceding week.

Azmi & Associates advised and acted for Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (“EXIM Bank”) on the update of its existing US$3,000,000,000 Multicurrency Medium Term Notes Programme (“MMTN Programme”) and issuance of Multicurrency Medium Term Notes (“Notes”) in 2021. The MMTN Programme was established on 6 June 2012 and upsized on 13 September 2016. The other law firms involved in the exercise were Linklaters, Clifford Chance and ZICO Law.

Under this MMTN Programme, EXIM Bank may from time to time issue Notes with a maturity of one year or more, denominated in any currency agreed between EXIM Bank and its relevant dealers.

Azmi & Associates, in their capacity as the Malaysian legal adviser to EXIM Bank, advised EXIM Bank on the MMTN Programme upsizing and update in years 2016 and 2021, respectively. Azmi & Associates’ team comprised 2 Partners, Farhah Hayati Mamat and Moo Eng Thing, and Senior Associate Lee Jee Yin and Associate, Gabriel Yee.

 


 

Azmi & Associates mostly via our Penang Office advised and acted for Synergy Sterilisation Kulim (M) Sdn Bhd, a  subsidiary of STERIS, plc, a NYSE-listed company which is involved mainly in healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical device, in negotiating the sale and purchase agreement for the purchase of an industrial land at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park.
