On 30 April 2026, our Senior Partner, Dato’ Azmi Mohd Ali, together with a number of partners, hosted a farewell dinner in honour of Mohd Wafiy Azman, who left the Firm to pursue the next chapter of his legal career with a boutique litigation firm.

Wafiy began his legal journey with Messrs. Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill, where he undertook his pupillage in April 2015 and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 29 April 2016. He was subsequently retained as an Associate under the Banking, Insolvency and Corporate Dispute Department.

He joined Azmi & Associates in December 2018 as an Associate under the Litigation Team and steadily expanded his portfolio to cover civil litigation, debt recovery, and banking litigation matters. He was promoted to Senior Associate 2, then Senior Associate 1, and was eventually appointed as Partner in September 2022, where he was entrusted to lead and manage his own team of 4 associates.

While we will certainly miss Wafiy’s service, leadership, and presence within the Firm, we respect his decision to pursue a more focused career path in a boutique litigation firm away from full-service practice. Needless to say, the Firm’s leadership wishes to record its sincere appreciation for his dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions throughout his years with us.

The Firm has also grown alongside him during this period, and his role in that journey is deeply appreciated.

We wish Wafiy nothing but success in his future endeavours, and he will always remain a valued member of our alumni family. We are certain that our paths will cross again in the future.
