We have seen significant growth in our corporate real estate and land based transaction portfolio over the last 2 years, with ongoing assignments including sale of hotels, disposal of vacant lands for office development, corporate joint ventures for mixed development projects, sale of office complexes and medical spaces, and transactions involving warehouse, logistics, industrial and manufacturing assets.
These matters involve a mix of major listed corporations, foreign purchasers, and real estate companies.
With the momentum of such high-value mandates, there is a clear need for the firm to further strengthen capacity in this segment.
Hence, on 1 November 2025, Azmi & Associates organised an internal knowledge-sharing session as an initiative by our Senior Partner, Dato’ Azmi Mohd Ali. The packed and well structured programme was designed to enhance the practical skills and market readiness of our partners and lawyers through real transaction insights and hands-on learning.
The workshop was attended by 7 key partners and more than 25 lawyers, mostly physically and around 5 lawyers online. 13 topics were covered, namely:

8. IPO of REITs.
9. Buying and selling of assets for REITs – legal considerations.
10. Legal issues in data centre set up.
11. Strategies to secure major property development projects in Malaysia.
12. Analysis of major economic hubs and regions and townships and opportunities in land developments and land-based transactions.
13. Financing issues in corporate real estate transactions.
The programme featured presentations, case studies, and sample agreements, creating an insightful and impactful learning platform for lawyers across the firm. We thank all speakers and participants for their contribution, and look forward to continuing similar initiatives to elevate our sophistication and strengthen our capabilities in the corporate real estate space.
