Azmi & Associates Promotes 3 Members to Senior Associate 1

Azmi & Associates is pleased to announce the elevation of three (3) members to the position of Senior Associates 1, effective March 1, 2024.

In an effort to improve client service and strengthen the team, Management and the Governance Committee carefully considered each candidate’s promotion, noting their exceptional commitment, knowledge, and contributions to the Firm.

 

Halimah Saadiyah has a degree of Bachelor in Law (LL.B) (Hons), 2014, from International Islamic University Malaysia.

Halimah chambered at Messrs. Mohamed Ridza & Co. and was admitted to the Bar in January 2015. She subsequently became an associate in the same firm and gained exposure in the drafting of sale and purchase agreements as well as financing documentation for various financial institutions.

In March 2019, she made a move to join Messrs Lee Hishamuddin Allen & Gledhill but later in July 2019, she re-joined Messrs. Mohamed Ridza & Co and continued her practice until December 2020.

Halimah joined Azmi & Associates in October 2021 as a member of the Financial Services practice group and thereafter elevated to the position of Senior Associate 2 on 1 September 2022.

She has been attending to various Islamic banking and conveyancing transactions.

 

Zuraidi Zulkifli graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia with a LL.B (Hons) in 2016.

He joined Azmi & Associates in March 2016 to undertake his pupillage and was called to the Malaysian Bar in March 2017 and retained as an Associate in Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group. Throughout his tenure, he had involved in a broad range of general litigation matters and disputes.

In December 2018, he left the Firm and pursued his Master’s Degree in University of Malaya. He completed his Master’s Degree in Commercial Law in August 2020.

In February 2019, he joined Attorney General’s Chamber as a Deputy Public Prosecutor. He has conducted numerous criminal prosecutions in the Magistrate Courts, Sessions Courts and the High Court. He was a team member in the prosecution of the former First Lady of Malaysia for anti-money laundering and corruption case. He was awarded the Excellent Service Award in 2021 by the Attorney General’s Chamber in recognition of his excellence in service as a Deputy Public Prosecutor.

He re-joined the Firm in December 2022 as Senior Associate 2 and is part of our Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group under the supervision of our Partner, Abu Daud Abd Rahim.

 

Mohammad Hazim Yaacob graduated from the University of Malaya with LL.B (Hons) in 2016.

He was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors on 18 May 2018. His passion for creative legal solutions is evident as he represented the University Malaya in various mooting competitions that credited him with invaluable legal research skills set which were further enhanced and developed throughout his pupillage at Azmi & Associates.

Aside from his legal background, before joining Azmi & Associates, he has maintained a unique non-legal background where he developed himself professionally in a different field in his previous employment before legal practice, where he took on the responsibilities as the Operations Manager for Wood & Steel Design Sdn Bhd in assisting and deputise for the smooth running of the company.

At Azmi & Associates, Hazim is an associate dedicated to Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group under the supervision of Abu Daud Abd Rahim from the commencement of pupillage until present.
