On 12 December 2025, our Multimedia, Technology & Intellectual Property team had the pleasure of conducting an online knowledge-sharing session on intellectual property (IP) titled “Solicitor’s Briefing: Trademark Protection for Financial Products & Services” for our client, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB). The session was delivered by Khairul Fazli Abdul Kadir (Partner) and Khairunnisa Khairol Anwar (Managing Associate).
The session began with an overview of IP and its importance as a key business asset, followed by best practices in protecting BIMB’s IP. We have also highlighted potential risks arising from the non-registration of trademarks and shared practical recommendations to help mitigate those risks and strengthen brand protection strategies.
The session received an overwhelming response, with more than 300 participants comprising BIMB employees from the head office and branches nationwide. We extend our sincere appreciation to BIMB’s Group Legal & Secretarial Division for the invitation and the opportunity to share our insights.
