Marlis Ilyana graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), obtaining Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in July 2022. Subsequently, completed the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law Manchester and was officially called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in March 2026. 

She has built hands-on legal experience through internships at top firms, including Shearn Delamore & Co. and Skrine. Her work has covered both contentious and non-contentious areas such as employment, probate, civil disputes, and litigation where she handled legal research, document drafting, court paper preparation, and hearing attendance. Additionally, she served as a legal researcher for Youth in Politics (YPolitics), analyzing complex political and legislative developments for the public.

Marlis is beginning her pupillage at Azmi & Associates to further refine her practical skills and legal knowledge. While her main area of interest is corporate law, she looks forward to exploring the firm’s various practice areas. Her Master is our Partner, Melinda Marie D’Angelus.
