The Asian Legal Business (“ALB”), a Thomson Reuters publication, identified, among others, the 10 largest law firms in each jurisdiction across the Asian Region, whereby the Firm is honoured to be placed as the 8^th largest law firm in Malaysia – Asian Legal Business Issue 11.10 -

ALB, a top provider of online legal news and information relating to the profession in Asia Pacific, China and Middle East, has recognised the Firm as an Employer of Choice, which the Firm had also received the same in 2010.

Islamic Finance News (IFN) in its publication, Leading Lawyers 2010 has identified Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip, Head of Azmi & Associates’ Islamic Banking and Global Financial Services Practice Group, as one of the leading lawyers nominated in the category of Islamic Banking and Finance.

This report is based on a survey which recognizes individuals and law firms considered as the best in their respective fields within the Islamic finance industry. The nominees are basically those who have been actively involved in numerous transactions over the past twelve months.

Azmi & Associates tops in M&A league table 2009: Azmi & Associates was listed as No.1 in the mergermarket League Table of Legal Advisors to Malaysian Mergers and Acquisitions ("M&A"), by volume of deals, for the year 2009. Azmi Mohd Ali was also recently identified by Asian Legal Business as one of 100 hottest lawyers in Asia for the year 2009 under the title "The Statesmen" reason being: “Azmi has grown his firm steadily this past year with new work and international appointments, and is one of the region’s leading firms specialising in Islamic finance. One of the few Malaysian lawyers to be on the record for liberalisation of the country’s legal market, Azmi says it will lift standards across the board and will see his firm ‘emerge tougher and more creative’ as a result”. Asia Law & Practice, in its recent publication of the Asia Law Leading Lawyers 2009– The Guide to Asia-Pacific Leading Lawyers, which provides lists and profiles of the leading legal practitioners across 21 areas of law categorised by country in the Asia-Pacific region, has identified Azmi Mohd Ali and Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip as the leading lawyers in Islamic finance. The Bursa Suq as-Sila', the world's first fully-automated secure online commodity-trading platform to facilitate Islamic finance, was awarded the "Most Outstanding Islamic Finance Product" at Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum's Islamic Finance Awards 2009. This is one of the projects in which Azmi & Associates acted as the legal advisors.
